Our Favorite Holiday Tablescapes To Try This Season

As we begin to dive into holiday cheer, festive parties, and endless potlucks, we wanted to point out some of the design elements during the holiday season that really help to add to our holiday spirit! At B Floral, we just live for a beautifully designed tablscape. When winter begins to roll around, our design studio starts buzzing with new ideas and concepts to incorporate into upcoming holiday events. From traditional tablescapes with typical Christmas palettes to out-of-the-box holiday displays, there are so many variables to consider when designing a holiday dinner tablescape.  We wanted to share our favorite holiday tablescapes of the season to inspire your next event or family gathering. We took a lovely trip down memory lane and rounded up photos from our archives and past events to ignite and inspire holiday-themed concepts for your next event.

Tablescapes with Natural Foliage and Organic Décor

Moss as a Tablerunner

As we bridge the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas, the design options are truly endless! We love utilizing the natural foliage that we find outside during the season. If you’re looking to create a continuous tablescape, opt for mounded moss with interspersed floral buds. This will keep your tablescape aesthetic continuous and low, allowing for guests to chat across the table without obstruction. We suggest clustering large floral heads like Portea and Coxcomb to make a statement throughout your runner.

Group Pumpkins and Gourds

Utilizing pumpkins and gourds for your tablescape might not feel like a brand new idea, but is a surefire way to elevate your holiday tablescape. Always make sure to group your pumpkin and gourd elements in clusters rather than placing them separately. This creates a more eye-catching and significant aesthetic. If you’re looking for a more monochromatic theme, as suggested below, try spray painting your pumpkins and gourds all in one color.

Monochromatic Color Palette

One of our favorite event aesthetics to incorporate into any design is the use of monochromatic elements. Using flowers in the same color along with other table accents such as candles and glassware, gives your table a cohesive and unified look.

Unexpected Colors for Holiday Décor

Don’t feel tied to tradition holiday colors when designing your tablespace. You can easily incorporate nontraditional colors into your décor while maintaining and holiday theme. Try using jewel tones paired with natural elements for a rich, organic tablescape. Succulents are often looked over during the winter season but can make for wonderful holiday accents. Pairing succulents with your jewel toned theme, gives you a nice organic element which helps to balance your look.

Monofloral Arrangements with Accent Flatware

Monofloral Arrangements to Create a Simple, Streamlined look

If you’re new to creating floral arrangements, a great way to test the waters is by using the same floral type for each arrangement. Monofloral arrangements are easy to design and can create lush and luxurious focal points.

Group Monofloral Arrangements Together for an Elevated Centerpiece

Try grouping several monofloral arrangements together to create a large, collective centerpiece. If you keep your arrangements simple, consider using intricate accent flatware with appealing colors and patterns.

Organic Tablescape with Décor Accents

Your tablescape doesn’t have to be over-the-top to be impactful. Try utilizing a few organic elements throughout the center of the table to create a continuous table runner. Moss is a wonderful way to tie all of the elements together and create an uninterrupted look.

Metallic Dreams

Playoff the traditional holiday ‘silver and gold’ visual by using metallic vases and flatware. Using metallic colors as your central color theme allows you to have fun with unexpected accent colors without taking away from the cohesiveness of your tablescape.

Ruby and Red for a Traditional Aesthetic

When in doubt, utilize traditional Christmas reds in your design to effectively communicate your theme. Pair your ruby and red florals with greenery to achieve the ultimate holiday look or pair your red tones with whites and silver for a sleek, modern holiday aesthetic.
